Jennings Educational Foundation
The Jennings Education Foundation (JEF), a 501(c)3 charitable organization, was created in 1993 with the goal of supporting Smithereen employees and their families with educational resources. Specifically, JEF funds are available to support Smithereen staff, spouses, partners and children with the costs tied to educational supplies and tuition.
Smithereen’s leadership believes strongly in the value of education along with the well being of employees and their families. Whether students are just starting pre-school or finishing up their graduate degree, JEF can help to offset the related expenses, ease the stresses of a stretched budget and break down the financial barriers to achieving educational goals.
Eligibility for JEF funding is held on a rolling basis. Employees, spouses, partners or children seeking support from the JEF foundation are encouraged to submit an application and essay that ties into their planned use of the funding. To qualify, essays should also include unique information about the applicant, rationale supporting the desired funding along with how the educational funding will help to support their career goals. Download and then submit your application as outlined in the JEF Scholarship Application.
Along with support from the Jennings family and Smithereen, JEF raises scholarship funds through an annual golf outing. If you are interested in making a contribution or participating in our fundraising events, please email ssseifert@smithereen.com for more details.
